On the eve of the 74th Republic Day, the federal government of India introduced that the SRD Prasad, Sanathoiba Sharma and Gurcharan Singh might be conferred with the Padma Shri awards. The likes of Kalaripayattu grasp SRD Prasad, Thang Ta guru Ok Sanathoiba Sharma, former cricketer and veteran cricket coach Gurcharan Singh might be honoured with the Padma Shri for distinguished service of their respective fields of sports activities. The President of India on Wednesday accepted the conferment of 106 Padma Awards, amongst which three have been awarded to sportspersons.
The Awards are given in numerous disciplines and fields of actions reminiscent of artwork, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, commerce and trade, medication, literature and training, sports activities, civil service.
‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for distinctive and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for excellent service of excessive order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in a particular subject.
The awards are introduced on the event of Republic Day yearly. The awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial capabilities that are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan often round March and April yearly.
