Following the outstanding theatrical run and reviews of RRR, the film made India proud at the 95th Academy Awards.RRR made history by securing the Best Original Song award for Naatu Naatu at the ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Ram Charan, who headlines the film with Jr NTR, was present at the ceremony with his wife, entrepreneur Upasana Kamineni. Upasana has been keeping fans updated about the couple’s Oscars journey on social media. On Tuesday, Upasana shed light on the story behind her ensemble for the special event. She attended the ceremony in a white saree, woven by the handloom artisans from her home state of Telangana.

Posting images of herself in the beautiful number, Upasana shared details of her outfit. She wrote, “Traditional, elegant and bespoke is what Jayanti Reddy and Bina Goenka curated for me for the 95 Academy Awards – The Oscars 2023. Hyderabad-based designer Jayanti Reddy created a silk saree made using hand-woven silk, of spun fabric, created from recycled scraps keeping in tune with my belief in sustainable fashion. The intricately crafted statement Lilium neck piece, was in the making from the last four years by avant-garde Mumbai-based jewellery designer, Bina Goenka. It was manoeuvred with impeccable craftsmanship, made using the highest quality of natural gemstones of pearls and approximately 400 carats of high-quality rubies that cannot be recreated. I truly appreciate the hard work, dedication, passion and labour of love that have gone into creating these beautiful pieces for me. It’s the intricate attention to detail that sets this look apart from the rest.”
