A complete of 1,997 highway accidents occurred in 2021 attributable to the usage of cell phone by drivers whereas driving, which claimed 1,040 lives, in line with a Ministry of Highway Transport and Highways (MoRTH) report.
The report titled ‘Highway accidents in India — 2021’, additional stated 555 highway accidents befell attributable to leaping of purple mild which claimed 222 lives in 2021.
