New Delhi:
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Tuesday took a swipe at Legislation Minister Kiren Rijiju over his remarks that the federal government has not taken a single step to undermine the judiciary, asking whether or not his “controversial statements” have been meant to strengthen it.
Mr Sibal’s remarks come a day after Kiren Rijiju mentioned there is usually a distinction of opinion between the federal government and the judiciary however that doesn’t imply the 2 are attacking one another and a “Mahabharat” is occurring.
Addressing a gathering on the Tis Hazari courts advanced in New Delhi to mark Republic Day, Mr Rijiju mentioned the Modi authorities has not taken a single step to undermine the judiciary.
Reacting to the remarks, Mr Sibal tweeted, “Rijiju: One other gem. ‘The Modi authorities has not taken a single step to undermine the judiciary…’.” “Are all of your (Rijiju) controversial statements meant to strengthen the judiciary,” the previous regulation minister requested.
