Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday mentioned Hindu non secular scriptures can be taught to college students in authorities colleges and issued a warning to these attempting to insult these revered texts, saying their acts won’t be tolerated.
The senior BJP chief’s warning got here within the backdrop of controversial statements made on the Ramcharitmanas, a Hindu non secular e-book based mostly on the Ramayan, by some political leaders in the previous couple of days.
Addressing a programme in Bhopal, Mr Chouhan mentioned historical Hindu epics are invaluable holy texts they usually assist in constructing ethical character of human beings.
“The Ramayan, the Mahabharat, the Vedas, the Upnishads, the Bhagwad Gita are our invaluable scriptures. These texts have the power to make a human being ethical and full. We will even (together with different topics) train these non secular books in authorities colleges. Why not examine them?” he mentioned.
The Chief Minister lauded sixteenth century bhakti poet Tulsidas for writing an epic like Ramcharitmanas.
Chouhan mentioned, “I bow to Tulsidas ji who gave us scriptures like (Tulsidas) Ramayan. Individuals who insult these nice males won’t be tolerated. In Madhya Pradesh we are going to make our youngsters ethical and guarantee their all-round growth by instructing these holy books.” The programme, ‘Sughosh Darshan’, was organised by Vidya Bharati, which runs an enormous community of colleges within the nation.
