Heavy snowfall warning has been issued throughout Himachal Pradesh for Tuesday and Wednesday following the presence of a Western Disturbance, based on the India Meteorological Division (IMD). Based on the state Meteorological Centre, the climate will likely be dangerous within the greater reaches of the state.
“Through the previous 24 hours, the climate has remained dry within the state. The utmost temperatures are above regular whereas the minimal temperatures are additionally regular. Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti recorded a minimal temperature of 9.4 levels Celsius on Monday,” Sandeep Kumar Sharma senior scientist at IMD, Himachal Pradesh stated.
He stated “a warning has been issued for heavy snowfall for January twenty fourth and twenty fifth within the state”.
“There’s a chance of sunshine rain and snowfall in greater reaches in a single or two locations and this exercise will intensify within the state and climate will likely be dangerous on twenty fourth and twenty fifth within the state,” Mr Sharma stated.
“We now have issued a heavy snowfall warning for districts Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur. The mid-hill districts of Kangra, Chamba, Mandi and Shimla can even have one or two spells of heavy snowfall in greater reaches,” Mr Sharma added.
Mr Sharma stated there will likely be one other spell of rain and snowfall within the area.
“This western disturbance will likely be lively within the state on the twenty fifth, twenty sixth and twenty seventh of January. There may be the potential of much less snowfall and the temperatures will drop by 2 to three levels Celsius,” Mr Sharma added.
