At the very least six woman college students had been hospitalised after being injured in a stampede-like scenario on the Jagannath Temple in Puri, police stated. The situation of the women is said to be secure.
The scholars, a part of a 70-member group of girls and boys from Hrudananda Excessive College in Rasgovindpur space of Mayurbhanj district, had come to Puri on Monday for a picnic throughout the Christmas holidays, a police officer stated.
The scholars had been on the sea seaside all through the day, and went to go to the Twelfth-century shrine within the night earlier than returning dwelling, he stated.
Whereas climbing the 22 steps (‘Baisi Pahacha’) to the temple round 8 pm, the women had been caught in a stampede-like scenario and fainted, a temple office-bearer stated.
